Jon Smyth Named USCHO.com’s Co-Most Improved Player

HAMILTON, N.Y.The honors keep rolling in for sophomore forward Jon Smyth (Markham, Ont.) of the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê men’s ice hockey team. U.S. College Hockey Online tabbed Smyth as the nation’s most improved player Tuesday along with Minnesota-Duluth’s Evan Schwabe. In addition, he is the only sophomore among the major award winners.  

Last month, Smyth was named the ECAC’s Best Defensive Forward and a first team all-ECAC selection. He also took home the team’s Whit Williams Award, given to the most improved player, and Best Offensive Player and co-Best Defensive Player honors.

Smyth finished the season with a team-high 42 points on 21 goals and 21 assists after accumulating three points last season.
