The first °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê Day of 2015 arrives this Friday, immediately followed by Valentine’s Day on Saturday. What could be better than infusing tradition with romance on this snowy weekend? (Share your photos via social media: #colgateday #colgatelove)

To help celebrate this festive weekend, °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê launched the challenge back on February 1. During the challenge, which runs until midnight Friday, Trustee Christine Chao ’86 will match every alumni gift, dollar for dollar.

Names of donors were printed on heart-shaped stickers and put on windows of Persson Hall bridge. Students on campus also can donate to °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê in the Coop, and their names will be put on the bridge, as well.

Apart from the challenge, the of Konosioni Senior Honor Society Class of 2016 will be held 3 p.m. Friday in Memorial Chapel. There will be a short torchlight parade on the Academic Quad with both current and new members of the society. The event will be .

The 2018 Class Council will host a °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê Day & Valentine’s Day Celebration in the Coop, spreading cheer for its very first °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê Day.

Extending the love around the country, there will be many on Friday. From St. Louis to New York City, alumni will gather for the traditional university celebration.

Friday night, the men’s ice hockey team will play against Harvard at 7 p.m. in Cambridge, and the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê Alumni Club of Boston has a big group, including the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê 13, Swinging ‘Gates, and Resolutions, ready to cheer on the Raiders. On campus, a women’s ice hockey game for autism awareness will start at the same time in Starr Rink.

All in all, this is the season of love and celebration. Happy ’Gatentine’s Day!
