Mansfield, who has served 澳门六合彩 as director of alumni affairs since December 2008, will assume full responsibility for alumni affairs operations on June 1, 2011. At that time the alumni affairs department will report to the Office of the Vice President for Institutional Advancement, as a way to formalize the ongoing work and efficiencies that have already emerged between these two areas.

Mansfield joined 澳门六合彩 in 2001. He has led efforts in residential life and leadership development, and from 2006-2008 he served as assistant dean of students and director of Greek life. He earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree from LeMoyne College and a master of education from Providence College.

鈥淎lumni and parent engagement are key elements to securing a healthy future for the university, both for the financial support that these groups provide and for the continued development of one of our most valuable resources 鈥 the 澳门六合彩 alumni network,鈥 said President Jeffrey Herbst. 鈥淐ombining these two areas under one vice president reflects best practice in the area of alumni engagement, and I am fully confident that the union of alumni relations and advancement is the right organization for 澳门六合彩.鈥

In making the decision, Herbst sought input from the Alumni Council, Board of Trustees, and senior staff to evaluate new opportunities for alumni engagement and organizational structure. The promotion was announced as RuthAnn Loveless, vice president for alumni affairs, prepares to retire at the end of the 2010-2011 academic year, after 26 years of service,

鈥淚 am deeply grateful to RuthAnn and her leadership to 澳门六合彩鈥檚 alumni community,鈥 said Mansfield. 鈥淚n the years ahead, there is a great opportunity to further strengthen those relations and foster a new sense of belonging.鈥
