The third annual fall academic awards ceremony was held Friday, Oct. 28, as part of Family Weekend activities.

�������ϲ� opened its classrooms and put campus life on display for hundreds of parents during Family Weekend 2011, held Oct. 28-30.  

This week brought … snow! (Among other things, of course) On Thursday, the campus saw its first snow of the season, a welcome sight for some, an unfortunate occurrence for others, and, for a few, a totally new experience.

This Saturday, while the Raiders prepare to defend their house before a crowd of Family Weekend supporters, President Jeffrey Herbst and his family will celebrate the rededication of their campus home, situated near the O’Connor Campus Center and the university observatory.

I will be heard!” Those words of Hugh C. Humphreys, master of ceremonies, rang through �������ϲ�’s Golden Auditorium on Saturday during the annual induction ceremony held by the National Abolition Hall of Fame and Museum (NAHOF).

The �������ϲ� Inn was officially dedicated during Homecoming weekend, though guests have been staying overnight, dining, entertaining, and enjoying the renovated historic inn for several months now.

This fall 12 members of �������ϲ�’s admission team spent a total of 276 staff days on the road. They visited 850 high schools in 41 states and 24 countries. They were asked — and they answered — every conceivable question about the admission and aid process.

Lyle Roelofs, who served as interim president and as provost and dean of faculty at �������ϲ�, has been named president of Berea College.

As a student, Mark Buttitta ’74 defended �������ϲ� football’s line of scrimmage. As an alumnus, he still noted the passing of summer by counting off the weeks until practices would start at his alma mater.

This week, I had Spanish and biology midterms. At one point during my studying, I found myself reading my biology notes in Spanish. I guess you can say I was multitasking? I think the whole campus will breathe a sigh of relief when classes, and midterms, finish today. I am so relieved to be done […]
