Konadu’s life work is devoted to knowledge production and the worldwide communities and struggles of peoples of African ancestry.

Students from more than 70 student groups have joined together to form a super-organization, the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê Student Coalition, to raise bail funds for individuals arrested as part of protests that have swept the nation in the wake of George Floyd’s death. 

Esther Rosbrook, assistant director of °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê’s ALANA Cultural Center, will assume the director position on June 1. She is currently serving as the center’s assistant director.

Newly published research authored by 10 °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê students and led by Associate Professor of Biology Engda Hagos, reveals how a specific protein inhibits cancer growth at the cellular level, which could one day lead to new cancer treatments.

Paul J. Schupf ’58, trustee emeritus, a philanthropic supporter of the arts, and the founder of the W.S. Schupf Endowed Chair in Far Eastern Studies passed away on December 4, 2019. He was 82 years old.

After graduating in May 2019 with a degree in molecular biology, Shushe spent seven weeks in the Republic of Kosovo presenting her Bigger Smiles Project on oral health to children and teenagers, funded by Davis Projects for Peace.
